Yay! It's finally my turn in the Fashionable Relay Challenge (Sasy is so awesome for thinking this one up!) So when I checked out Shellie Toonie's post I was immediately drawn to the sock monkey slippers. First of all, they're SOCK MONKEYS!!! On your feet!!! Cuter things in the world are non-existant. So obviously they are my relay item.

Which then begged the question of what to wear for the rest of the outfit. Pajamas seemed too obvious, but how to incorporate such fun slippers in with a normal outfit? The answer was staring me in the face. In real life I hate to wear shoes when I don't have to. My feet need to be free and wiggly. But, I also can't stand to get them cold, so I'm always wearing socks or slippers. So I put together a cute little chillin' out at home at the end of the day outfit. Still dressed from being out and about, but comfortable. Check out some candid's from my impromptu chill out dance party!

Review: Rez and Tell shares Candace.

I really enjoyed watching Ryker Beck's first skin attempt for ::Genesis::, Eden. Eden turned out great, with a lot of options. So when she began work on Candace, I was really excited to see how that turned out. It turned out Candace was a little high maintenance, and after lots of bumps along the way, she's finally ready for her debut.As you can see in the image, Candace has been released in four skintones, as opposed to Eden's eight. However Candace is not without options; unlike Eden, Candace features tintable eyebrows. However like Eden, she also comes with two options for pubic hair, a set of eyes, and a bonus belly ring. Plus just look at that body, the elbows and knees are nicely formed, the breasts realistic, and oh those butt dimples!

Candace's makeups will be released in lines of eight makeups per skin. Above is Candace's "Release" line. Also in the works is a "Summer Fun" line and a "Pinups" line among others. The Release line makeups are a quality that can be expected for a perfectionist and talent like Ryker. With something for everyone, from light and classic, to dark and dramatic, and especially the colorful and perfect for spring options.

I bring with me to share with you some shapes from eeka Batz's new store, blitz. I already shared some of her shapes when I reviewed Genesis's Eden skin; Now I bring more as the store has officially opened.

The past few weeks I've been really nostalgic for the 80's. The decade of my birth is making a comeback in fashion, pop culture, and music. Bringing with it memories of a simpler time for me, one where I didn't have to worry about fitting everything into the few hours in the day, making car payments, or getting sick and not being able to pay for it.

In times of economic and personal crisis it's nice to be able to escape for just a little while. So I decided to use this nostalgia as inspiration for my set at Seven Ultra Lounge Friday night. With spinning everything from Madonna to The Police, to Rush to Rick Springfield, to Tiffany to New Kids on the Block; I needed a look that matched the fun, bright, pop mood I was trying to bring in and share.

Luna Jubilee posted a blogger challenge on her blog to showcase something in SL that helps our mood. I immediately thought of Surfing. Much like RL, being near the waters in second life is soothing, and here the waves are always perfect. It's nice to take some time out and meditate in times of stress. I can spend the whole day enjoying the relaxation the beach has to offer.

From morning meditation to hitting the waves and surfing the stress away all day long. Surfing takes focus, and practice, and skill. Combining these leaves not much room for everything else to encroach on my mind.

At the end of the day my stress is gone, and I'm ready to sleep. The perfect end to a perfect day on the waves.

Product Review: Rez and Tell is seductive

I had the pleasure of a surprise group notification today. The fabulous Mimi Coral over at Cupcakes sent out a notice to group members announcing a new skin line, Seduction. I highly recommend joining their group as this store is just fantastic and is always having some sort of sale, release, or new exciting fun toy they're bringing into the shop.

Mimi was awesome enough to send out a little sneak peek to the group members and it's love at first glance. These skins just rock. I looked over them closely and found very little to gripe about. The makeup I got to see was subtle and enhancing, and the eyebrows were neither too thin nor too thick. I scanned over the body looking for any obvious problems and was pleased to note a little mole on the back shoulder, because it's similar to one I have in RL. I even gave in and went full frontal for you in a bit here...

There are slight seaming issues on the back just above the rear, but nothing too bad. Hands, feet and knees were better than expected on many skins in SL. Nothing jumped out on them as being fake or out of the ordinary. Infact, the only gripe I have is about the breasts. Yup I said it. Breasts. Tatas. Mangos. The Girls. Boobies. Milk Bags. Fun Bags. etc. See my problem lies in the shading at the top, I noticed it right off and thought it looked a little funny, a little... too much. I zoomed in and seemed to talk myself into it looking okay, but when I edited the pics for this I noticed it again. The shading makes them seem to pop right out to say howdy, and while I love my girls poppin', don't like them poppin' out. The shading is seemingly oriented towards larger chests and almost makes me say "Omg so fake." Just a little too perky is all I'm sayin'!

Overall though, they're totally awesome. A wide range of tones gives something for (almost) everyone. Even providing options for those one the far ends of the spectrums, dark and pale. I think that the dark tanned Wheat is a very good option for the multi-ethnic residents, as you could pass for being of spanish decent, indian decent, or even middle eastern in the right light. The one ethnicity that is glaringly missing is Asian.

So I've been friends with Ryker on Plurk for just a few months, though it seems like less, the year is flying. She actually started the book club that I am LOVING. I very much enjoyed her Twilight Eyes, and even had run and bought her Drama Queen Tees not long after friending her. So when she started designing a skin, I followed along curious to see what she'd come up with. The resulting Eden is everything I expected, and more.

When I got the chance to get one of the sneak peek packs she was sending to bloggers I jumped and tossed my name in the ring eagerly. I'm a fairly modest girl, so no full frontal. Sorry! But check out this gorgeous skin, which comes in a whopping 8 shades. I'm wearing one of the paler versions, a neutral if you will. But there are even paler, as well as tan, and equally gorgeous darker skins for those who are looking for something more ethnic as well as a beautiful asian shade.
Each pack Comes with all kinds of goodies. Including a set of five different color eyes custom made to suit the skin, multiple pubic hair options, a belly ring, and an array of advice to look your best. In edition, each makeup comes with a non-freckled version, and a freckled version. Below you'll see the 10 of 20 makeups I got to try out, I did half freckled, and half not. As you can see there is a wide array of color options for those who are more conservative, to those who are as daring as they come!
Gabby blogged and commented on their versatility. I have to agree; Eden does seem to be a relative of the magic pants from 'The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants.' Simply put, Eden makes everyone look goooood. To illustrate this I changed shapes. Conveniently for me a friend has just decided to get into shape making, and had dropped some samples on me inworld earlier in the day. I present below shapes from Eeka Batz in Honey and Magnolia. As you can see Eden looks great no matter what your shape, and accentuates your best features perfectly. Be it the musculature of my normal shape, the pout on Honey or the delicate eyes and nose on Magnolia.

Fashion: Rez and Tell goes to the Roller Derby

Something about today's radio play-list while I was at work sparked a bit of nostalgia in me. It made me think of back in the day of just starting High School, and going to the roller rink. Don't get excited, that doesn't date me. See the roller rink wasn't THE place to go, it was just... a place to go. haha. Small town girl here! So anyway, when I got home and online I wanted to keep those good memories going, so I dug out my Skoopf skates, which were still pink from last year's Relay for Life. Starting with them I searched for a great pair of socks to go with them, which was hard since I don't have a whole lot of socks. But I found a great freebie that fit on SLX from Rotten Toe.

Skates and socks in place I was starting to get a tough girl feel, it didn't take much to add a denim skirt from Reaction, and a Tee from Trixi Stix. Polishing it off I rumaged in my accessories and came up with [Woo's!] Zebra Schmebra set and lucky into finding the {Violet Voltaire} Glitterati necklace in pink and black. I can only assume I must have gotten this one during a hunt, otherwise I'd have so much remembered it. ETD's Lisa hairstyle added just the right rock to my roll and I was ready to hit up the roller derby and start bustin' some skulls!

Tour: Rez and Tell thinks MaxMoney sounds like a super villian!

Before I talk about the newest economic-based endeavor in SL I just want to let you all know that I'm giving up on the Friday Five until we have more of a reader base. Now, on with the show.

MaxMoney is the latest currency exchange to hit the grid. And now that XStreetSL has been annexed by Linden Labs, MaxMoney is becoming the go to place for residents who dislike way Linden Labs is leaning towards a monopoly. It's the largest independantly owned, U.S. Based currency exchange that has been approved by Linden Labs to use their Exchange Risk A.P.I. Formed by Maximilian March, of Max March Industries, MaxMoney's sim is a wonderful place to explore.

With a build by Scope Cleaver, the sim manages to feel both like a remote tropical island, untouched by man, and a futuristic oasis. The center of the sim features a large volcano, topped by the MaxMoney headquarters. The design of this "building" is reminiscent of one of the grand cable bridges, such as the golden gate. But with glass flooring.
The terraforming of the area was done by Poid Mahovlich, who provided both lush and barren areas, equally fun to explore. From waterfall lagoons, to rocky beaches, there's true beauty and heart put into Poid's work here.
Farther out from the island, the waters contain sharp rocky outbreaks, protecting the beaches from the ocean's rough waves. The sea sprays against the rocks are familiar imagery to those who grew up on the coast. The clear blue water hides what lies beneath, but you should definately seek it.
For under the waves is an ocean paradise, aglow with shiny schools of fish, glowing jellyfish, and even larger sea creatures. But be sure to watch out! While I was there, a shark bit me, thankfully I apparently didn't taste too good!

So, yesterday was my SL Bookclub's meeting for the February book. Which happened to be the polarizing book, Twilight. This gathering gave me the perfect excuse to bust out this great tee from Pink Outfitters that I saw on the fashion feed and ran to get a while back. With the tee as my base, and the book and movie to inspire me I put together a great look based on the book's female protagonist, Bella, in a scene where she joins the vampiric Cullen family for a rousing game of baseball.

So, I found myself with some extra L$ lying around, and remembered that 3 lovely stores are having sales. Cupcakes, Pixel Dolls, and Sn@tch. So I dressed up, except that it's more dressing down. Comfort over couture when you're going to be in laggy areas and logging lots of miles on the shoes. So I put together this cute little look to go hit the stores. If I have enough left, I might have to go get one of those cute AIF Kittens...

I started with the hoodie, the Stars hoodie in Pink from Wrong. After seeing it on it's own I decided to use the option with the t-shirt look included. Next came the pants, sure, pink and green may seem kinda odd. But these dark and worn green pants act more like a neutral. I've had them since I was pretty new, and love the detailing on the pockets. When one is shopping in a spree type fashion one needs comfortable shoes. Sneakers to be exact. Insert the Harlan Chameleon Kicks. These shoes KICK. They come scripted so that you can tint individual parts for a look as unique as you are. I had to resize them a bit, but it was worth it. I tinted them a bright pink to go with the sweater, but not be all matchy matchy. After that came the icing on the cake, for jewelry I went with a simple set from the Vain, Inc. Kissed hunt, C'est L'amour by *Ticky Tacky*, and a gorgeous classy hairstyle from Aveda by ETD. Voila. Time to burn through some shops!

You may not know this about me, but I'm a surfer in Second Life. Infact, I have served as a director on the Second Life Surf Association Board (SLSA). I'll have you know that that is a hard job. It is fun, but it is work, and sometimes they don't get the love they should. This post isn't about them though, it's about the SLSA competitions! 2009 Season 1, there are 2 seasons per year, began Saturday with the Pooky Media Tsunami Classic. Held at Tsunami Beach, with spectator stands in FreePort.

In the picture above surfer Bo Ohmai competes for a coveted place in the Semifinals. The competition is held all on one day, beginning with around 40 surfers, and narrowing it down to 15 for the semi finals, and then only 6 for the finals. The competition lasts many hours, but the waves are fast and the fun-loving surfers make it feel like one long party.

The surfers are judged by a panel of three judges, above are Rianne McCullough, Sally LaSalle(Head Judge) and VW Sands. They determine each surfer's wave score based on skill, tricks, and usage of the wave.
Tauri Tigerpaw stood, or hovered, in as Event Coordinator. She kept the stands apprised of the goings on of the competition, announced when each heat should head to the beach to prepare, and provided comic relief and fun facts about the surfers, sponsors, and sim. All staff wore rashguard uniforms in yellow like Tauri's or black. The surfers also wore the uniforms in their assigned color: Red, Blue, Green, Orange or Purple. These detailed uniforms are remade for each competition, the one you see Tauri wearing was made by Nora Wayne of TGA Swimwear.

There's plenty of room in the three-level stands for spectators to sit and cheer on their favorites, or dance with their friends. Congratulations to Saturday's winners: Desirae Beaumont (1st), Sunrize Mornington & Express Zenovka (2nd tie), Bonheur Chenaux (4th), QUENCH Spotter (5th) and Colleen Brennan (6th). I have once and it was on solving a creative problem! I woke up with a solution for something I was building and was kinda shocked.

Mixed Bag: Rez and Tell can't walk past a mirror without checking itself out.

I have today some more gifts from the Vain, Inc. Kissed Hunt, which I discussed in my last post. I'm very impressed with the quality and originality of some of these gifts.

In this first picture I rezzed a pink arched trellis which was part of the gift package from Romance by Pond Life. The awesome picnic blanket and record player are from junkDrawer. The record player is actually a working radio, and the blanket has built in posing for men and women with 3 poses for each. Also on the blanket are some records and a mostly empty classic glass bottle of cola. I loved this setup the second I rezzed it.

This is the outfit I'm wearing in the picnic picture. The clothes, necklace and belly jewel all came from the hunt. I love the detailed lacing on the corset, and the necklace is too cute. Check out the deets below.

Event: Rez and Tell knows what CC means...

One of my favorite things to do in SL when I have a bit of spare time is Primtionary. Primtionary is a highly addictive social game, which not only works the mind but also your building skills.

Essentially the game is like a 3D version of the board game Pictionary, or perhaps similar to Charade. A person is given a word, and using the system build tools attempts to illustrate the word while the audience guesses what the word is. The winner gets a $L prize and a chance to try and build the next word.

It's a great chance to try and build your building skills, have some fun, and be entertained. There are multiple places to play Primtionary but I always seem to find myself in Asim Zahra. They have a great stage built there for players to get up on and build, with advertisers promoting assisting in the costs to run the game. Also there are bleacher seats provided for the audience to relax and guess.

Each event is hosted, with someone running the scripted equipment and providing players with the secret words. Some nights are themed, some are not, some are for beginners, using only the easy mode. The latest time I went the event was hosted by Yummie Olsen, pictured above, who hosts quite often. She led us through the builds as we tried to guess each, and the overall theme. This theme was guessed about halfway through the event, car models. You try building a Vanquish or 4-Runner. At least in the easier modes they have ones like Charger, Beetle, and Ram. I highly suggest checking out Primtionary in Asim Zahra.

I briefly mentioned my partner Egon in my previous post; in this post he's joining me, mostly because he caused it. He very much wanted the Kama Sutra HUD, but wanted to try it out before buying. So we headed over to Akaesha Island to try out the demo.

Lots of residents are still chained to their sexgen furniture, only able to cuddle or be intimate where someone else has dictated. As we know this is something of a pet peeve to me. Of course one can find an array of sexgen furniture for all tastes, and every room; infact Egon and I have a joke that if at one of our friends' house just touch something, anything, and you'll get a menu. But why shell out all that money for a cluttered, prim filled, home where your sex life is so out in the open when you can act on your whims, grid wide.

Not only does the Kama Sutra HUD allow you the freedom to get down on a moments notice, it also comes equipped with a variety of animations. From innocent cuddles, to moments, and of course, the Kama Sutra. The instructions included with the HUD even feature explanations and diagrams for the varied positions. The HUD also allows for fun additions including effects and rezzing objects, like a romantic fireplace, and a chilled bottle of wine.

We ended up buying the HUD, incase you couldn't figure that out. Pretty much anything that will bring me chocolate and coffee without my having to stop cuddling is made of win. Review: Rez and Tell <3's Intan

I have a secret. I am in love with the Intan Dance system. I am probably a bit of a control freak, but I like to have some say in where I dance at a club. RL has spoiled me in this way. In the past I was stuck dancing wherever people decided they wanted their dance balls, and often the spot I wanted had the dance I hated. Alas, no more.

Look familiar? That beautiful little ball on a stick is the savings grace of club owners everywhere. Reduce dance floor clutter while providing your patrons with more control over their actions. Hallelujah! However, the Intan system isn't just for club or hangout owners, increasingly friends and acquaintances are installing them at their own homes. Recently I even saw an ad for a house rental that came with the system.

I guess the biggest drawback here is the ugly yet suggestive base for the system. Fortunately a slew of alternative designs have come out so that owners can easily mask this or incorporate it into their decor. Even the satellite posts (remember our little tee-ball looking friend?) can be altered to resemble everything from hearts to pumpkins to stars.

Initially the system comes with these familiar friends, Mr. Blue and Mrs. Pink Balls, however even these are changeable, allowing for some true flexibility. This is great for clubs wishing to subtly incorporate the system into their decor. As well as for individuals, my own partner in world has set ours all to sets of black and white hearts for an upcoming vow renewal, and a friend had his as pumpkins for his Halloween party. But aside from personal changes in looks individuals using this system can also add in some more intimate animations, making that date night in all the more stress free, just click a button and you've gone from dancing to kissing.

The Intan system costs $1,850L for the bare bones, the ending total is completely dependant on the animations chosen. Popular dance sets can run you around $300L per set, or you can spend the time scouring yard sales for others' extras and get them for perhaps a little bit cheaper. Any way you do it, I find it's worth it. You can get started at Intan Eksotics in Sunset Beach.

Mixed Bag: Rez and Tell Goes Back To School

Hello everyone and welcome to Rez and Tell. I know there are plenty of blogs out there dedicated to bringing you reviews, tips, tricks, etc. from Second Life*. But I wanted to get in on the fun, so I decided to bring this blog to you, where I will share all the delightful things that make Second Life* so interesting, fresh, and fun.

When I first mentioned this blog, and it's title, to my friend Express Zenovka he said that I would have to dress like a teacher for my entries. While I don't intend to do that continuously, I thought it a good place to start out. So I got together my teacher look and remembered a sim I had visited last fall where a build of a high school was in progress.

I'm talking about BrazyVille High School, located in BrazyVille of course. This area is RP-enforced, but it is worth playing at being a prospective student or substitute teacher to see this fantastic and detailed build. Allow Substitute Teacher Ms. Dickins to take you on an abbreviated tour of BHS.

When I arrived at BrazyVille High School I took in the sprawling campus with it's red, black and white coloring, after all those are school colors. As well as the abundance of their bulldog mascots. Just inside the front door the entryway offers information, visitors passes and a sitting area. To one side is the offices, and to the other, the school store with BHS themed goodies.

BrazyVille High's classrooms are well equipped and informative. I feel prepared to see students just sitting at the teachers desk. Each classroom is oriented to a specific subject, everything from English, to Science, to Home Ec. Soon enough it's time for lunch, so I'll head to the cafeteria to monitor the students, though I don't anticipate any food fights.

I made it in plenty of time, the cafeteria is mostly empty now, but in a few minutes the kids will work their way through the line and fill up these tables. It's downtime for them, but not for me, afternoon classes will be far more relaxing than this is!

I was right of course, last class of the day and it's finishing up great. I'd love to just head home for a nice bubble bath and some Grey's Anatomy, but I have too many papers to grade, and a basketball game tonight.

I was never a fan of sports when I was in high school. I hated the gym, and it's class. But it's important to show support to my students, even as just a substitute. So I find myself in the gymnasium early for the big game, watching the team practice. I wonder how long I need to stay to put in a proper appearance. It looks as though a storm is rolling in judging by those clouds, and I'd like to be home before it breaks loose.
